English Bagpipes

Every European country has or had its own bagpipe and England is no exception. English bagpipes have an elegant and gentle sound and were used mainly for indoor playing. At weddings, for example, pipes can be used to announce the arrival of the bride and groom. English bagpipes became obsolete in the 1730s but are related to the present-day Northumbrian pipes.
